AAUW Talladega County Branch is building awareness in the local area about the Gender Pay Gap. This year, we supported State House Representative Adline Clark and Senator Vivian Davis Figures as they worked their way through the legislative process until HB 225, Clarke-Figures Equal Pay Act, was passed and signed by Governor Kay Ivey. “There is still work to be done,” said Audrey L. Salgado, AAUW Talladega County board member. We encourage our members, student associates, and Talladega County women to read the Fall 2019 update of The Simple Truth about the Gender Pay Gap released earlier this month to see its impact on them personally.
